The Personal Greatness Program is a unique, self-paced journey of self-discovery that uses a staging system. This allows each student to receive extra attention from staff and reinforces the specific principles they are being taught at the stage they're in.
Using stages, our program introduces certain basic life principles in a sequential format, allowing professional therapists and educators at Moonridge Academy to observe and assess our students. This also gives our students extra attention from staff members, which is always a positive.
The program starts with an assessment of the teen’s current mental health situation and what they hope to achieve while at Moonridge Academy. From there, we work with the teen to set realistic goals and help them develop a plan to achieve those goals. We also provide guidance and support throughout the process so our teen learners can stay on track and gain the highest mental health and academic potential possible while at Moonridge Academy.
With this program, your teen can learn more about themselves and how to live according to the principles that will help them reach their full potential. There is no set or pre-determined time period for how long they should be on each stage- it is individually tailored to their specific needs.
The Personal Greatness Program is just one way that Moonridge Academy helps our students find their own greatness. We also offer several other unique services and programs designed to help our students succeed.
Our daily schedule is busy but highly structured and includes a variety of activities intended to help students grow in different ways. We believe that every student has the potential for greatness, and we are committed to helping them find it.
6:30 AM |
Residents at Moonridge Academy start their day bright and early, at 6:30 AM. The first thing on their to-do list is to complete some chores around the campus. This helps them develop a sense of responsibility and teaches them the importance of working as part of a team. After they've completed their chores, they'll have breakfast and then get ready for a day of school. |
8:00 AM |
School starts at 8:00 AM and lasts until 1:30 PM. Students will receive instruction in core academic subjects like math, English, science, and history during this time. We also emphasize character development and personal growth, so our students will participate in daily lessons on conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and coping skills. |
AFTERNOONS |
After lunch, teens will participate in individual therapy, family therapy, homework, equine therapy, or experiential activities interspersed with an afternoon group therapy session. These activities are designed to help our students process any emotions that they may be feeling and to learn more about themselves and the world around them. |
EVENINGS |
After dinner, teens may do homework, have free time, or complete stage work. Stage work is an integral part of our program because it allows students to express themselves creatively and build confidence in their social abilities. The evening provides time to clean up, read, write in journals and make connections with the other students before going to bed (9:45 PM). Students participate in a goal-setting group each evening before bedtime with their mentor staff. If you're looking for a mental health and therapeutic residency that can provide your young adolescent with the structure and routine they need to thrive, look no further than ours! Our days are filled with various activities designed to help our students grow in all areas of their life. Contact us today to learn more about what we can offer your family!
